It’s Always Me
I take the trash out.
Also the recyclables, the scraps and if laundry needs to be done, it’s me.
Living alone has it’s upsides but being the only one doing all the things gets tiring.
I used to clean my condo by myself every weekend.
It could take two to three hours depending on my desire for a sparkling tub or determination to banish the dust bunnies.
One day I decided to hire a cleaner.
Walking in after they had left I swear I heard angels singing, it was spotless.
Having the whole place clean at the same time was something I could no longer deny myself.
Now I have a cleaner once a month, he is one of my favourite people.
He cleaned the bugs out of the light fixtures his first visit.
I didn’t even ask, it brought tears to my eyes.
He also takes out the trash, the recyclables and the scraps.
My friends have partners, I hear they have downsides.
A cleaner is nothing but joy and for one day a month it’s not just me.
New post every Wednesday.
Always short, sometimes funny, possibly relatable.
